Installing the Acoustic Guitar Strap on a Palmer
- 1). Place one end of the guitar strap over the end pin. Guitar straps have slits in the ends, allowing them to fit over end pins and strap buttons.
- 2). Place one end of the cord through the slit in the other end of the guitar strap. The cord may be made of any strong material that will hold a knot, such as a leather cord, shoe lace, twine or thin rope. Some guitar straps are sold with cords pre-installed on the strap.
- 3). Feed the cord underneath the strings directly below the two lower tuning keys and above the guitar's nut. The nut is a white piece of plastic that suspends the strings from the guitar neck to the tuning keys.
- 4). Tie a knot with the two cord ends to hold the strap in place. The type of knot can be of your choosing, and it should be doubled.
- 5). Place the guitar strap over your head and onto your shoulder, with the guitar facing front in playing position. Adjust the strap with the built-in adjustment slide buckle (if equipped) until the guitar is at a comfortable playing height.
