    Turtle Trivia Games

    • Together with your girls, play turtle trivia games. You can amass a list of information about turtles and write the information down on flash cards. Place the girls into groups of two or three and have them raise their hands as soon as they know the answer. The girls that get the most answers right will win. Make a traditional board game using a poster board and markers, with a starting and end point with a path in the middle to get from one to the other. You can also use a board game you already own that has the same layout for your turtle game, but play your own version instead. In lieu of dice, put a number underneath every trivia question. The number represents how many spaces she will get to move forward if she is right and how many spaces she will have to move backward if she is wrong.

    Online Games

    • If your daughter or students love to play games online, give them a couple of links to turtle games they can play. National Geographic's website features "The Great Turtle Race" in which students race as turtles, avoiding running into seaweed and other obstacles that will impede them. "Toss the Turtle," an animated game on Armor Games, challenges girls to shoot an animated turtle out of a cannon as far as possible.

    Turtle Dress-Up

    • If you're working with young girls or are doing a school play that involves a turtle, challenge your students to make a turtle costume using things found around the home or classroom. This can include a turtle headpiece made of construction paper, a makeshift shell or anything else your girls feel might work. Vote on who has the best costume when you have finished.

    Living Life as a Turtle

    • Turn learning about turtles into a creative exercise. After your girls have studied about turtles, have them get creative by writing a short play about turtles, writing a diary entry from the point of view of a turtle or writing an essay on turtles in general. Have students share or perform their creations with the class. Make it a game by voting on the best essay, the most creative essay and the most informative essay.
