Video: How to Do Evening Makeup
Video Transcript
Hi I'm Kendra Richards professional makeup artist. And today I'm going to show you an evening look. So we are going to start the look with a color design five pan palette Mauve Cherie by Lancome. And I'm going to begin with with the lightest shade highlighting color. I'm going to start, let me flick some of that off. There we go. I'm going to start very lightly up under the brow. And then I'll go ahead and lead this down on the eyelid just evenly. And turn your face a little this way. I'm putting the color down and then I'll blend it out just in a moment. This adds a great highlight up under the eye and helps open the eye up. This is also a fantastic color and highlight to use right in the center of the eye that helps brighten and open up the eye. So the next step is to take the darkest shade, this purple right here. And let some of that on the brush. And I'm going to use it starting on the outer edges of her eye. I love this color look. You know this is something to think about too. A lot of times women they're just not sure what color to choose. We don't have to match your colors that you are wearing on your eyes to your outfit. Choose a color that you think is really beautiful that you love, that you feel good wearing. I also like normally to begin doing eyeshadow before I even add, before I do foundation on the face. I like to start with eyeshadow. That way if there is any fallout you can clean that up really easily with a little moisturizer and then move on and it's a much cleaner look. We are putting it almost into the center. We are not going all the way, going almost all the way. And focusing that color on the outer edge. So then I'm going to choose this lighter shade right next to the purple to put right in this center part, it's not really the center it's the inner area of the eye. I don't really use a dark color in there because it's going to really close her eyes down but you take a lighter color and you put it in that inner corner. Not all the way to the edge where we've got that little bit of shimmer. I'm going to take this beautiful shimmery shade right here and I'm going to add that into the crease line and that picks up the light beautifully too. I love that. Adds a little bit of drama and a little bit of fun to the look. Okay. There we go. So the last step in the five pan palette is this beautiful shimmery gray color that I'm going to take along with some water that I put on my brush. And then just go right, oh look at that. That's beautiful. I'm going to go right over, turn your face just a little bit, great. And I'm going to go over that day time eyeliner that I have on her. Girl look at that beautiful shimmer. This really adds a festive evening look to this eye makeup. That little bit of shimmer will pick up the light if you are out to dinner, you are out dancing. That looks great. And then I'm going to finish with a coat of mascara. Just wiggling again at the base of the lashes to pump up those lashes giving you crazy amazing volume. And no evening eye is complete without that smoky eye under eye liner. So I'm going to take that dark shade again and you see that I'm going from that outer edges just back and forth. Back and forth just gently. So I want to smudge that line out. I don't want it to be quite so defined. So once I've lined the bottom lid with the darkest color I'm going to then go in with this purple and I'm going to smudge that in over it. That'll help soften the look, go all the way up, and continue building that smoky eye. It helps tie the color from the top lid in with the bottom under eye. That's a smoky eye using a jewel colored beautiful purple palette. This is really on trend for the spring any of the jewel colors. And it's a great look. She's just gorgeous. And there you have it,a beautiful way to do evening makeup. I'm Kendra Richards thanks for watching.
