Walls

• Paint a mural on the walls or use ready-made walls. Put a motocross mural on one wall and skateboard ramps on another with a neutral color on the two connecting walls, such as beige or light blue. Alternatively, paint half of the room to look like dirt, mud and mountains with a life-sized dirt bike decal and the other half a cemented, urban scene with half-pipes and skate ramps and a life-sized skater decal. Hang a large collage on the wall featuring dirt bike and skateboard pictures, or make two murals if the room is being shared. Use a dirt bike tire dipped in black paint to create tread marks across the walls in random patterns, then hang skateboard shelves to represent both aspects of the decorating theme.
  
  

Furniture

• Use wood or metal furniture and customize the furniture with skateboard or dirt bike details. Replace the dresser knobs with skateboard wheels. Glue a small stack of dirt bike tires together and insert a piece of plywood for a solid bottom. Use the tires as a garbage can or a laundry hamper if you add a clean lining or clean the tires first. Make a headboard out of old boards or decoupage dirt bike pictures onto a plain wood headboard.
  
  

Textiles

• Flame or graffiti patterns work for the curtains or bedding. Alternatively, use plain curtains and dress them up by using dirt bike handle grips as stops on the ends of the curtain rod. Use a plain cement floor if there's room for the occupant to skate or store her dirt bike as part of the decor.
  
  

Accessories

• Accessorize the room with framed pictures or posters of the occupant's favorite professional riders and skaters. Display old motocross helmets or skateboards on the walls or shelves. Create a shadow box using a riding jacket, skate shoes or skater T-shirts that are signed or have significant meaning to him. Put out pictures of him in action or his awards and trophies if he has competed. Make throw pillows out of T-shirts featuring his favorite skater brand logo.
