"McCown Valley Park sits on Lake Whitney just outside Whitney, Texas. Whitney is about an hour and 15 minutes south of Dallas. It's a pretty quiet lake, which in other words isn't overloaded with boats. There's also a part set aside for horseback riding where you can set up camping. There's a large pavilion there for use. Most of the campground is a very shady area, which is great. The blue bonettes have been popping up all over the fields there the past two years.

The honey bees and bumble bees have been all around.

Twice a year my family goes there pretty much for a family reunion. We'll be going again in just a few weeks. The pictures are from the past two years on perhaps four different trips there. I used a Nikon D50 along with several different lenses." ~ Mike Rushing
