How to Install a Xenon Kit

    • 1). Open the Xenon headlamp light kit, which will have the bulbs, ballasts and pre-molded connectors. Be careful not to touch the Xenon bulb. Skin oils will damage the bulb and cause premature bulb burnout.

    • 2). Open the vehicle's hood and familiarize yourself with the headlights at the front of the car. Disconnect the existing wiring harnesses from the original headlamp bulb.

    • 3). Remove the original headlamp from the socket by twisting the bulb and pulling it toward the rear of the car. The bulb will slide out of the pre-molded headlamp fixture. In some cases, a slide-on clip or twist ring must also be removed before the light bulb will slide out of the socket. Remove these as well.

    • 4). Insert the Xenon HID bulb into the headlight socket. Twist and lock it in place. Reinstall any clamps or fasteners at this time.

    • 5). Set the HID ballast into, or on the edge of, the vehicle's engine compartment. Attach the HID ballast wiring pigtail to the pre-molded pigtail on the Xenon bulb. These parts are custom designed and will connect in only one configuration.

    • 6). Attach the second wiring pigtail on the HID ballast to the pre-molded wiring connector which was connected to the existing standard/halogen light bulb. This wiring pigtail on the ballast is designed for each manufacturer, make and vehicle model. The pre-molded connector will only connect to the correct electrical harness.

    • 7). Move the HID ballast into the engine compartment. Secure it to the fender wall or firewall with zip ties, or electrical tape. Do not allow the ballast to bounce about or remain unattached after the installation is complete.

    • 8). Test the installation before taking the vehicle for a drive in the night time. Verify that all light bulb settings work properly.
