    Does Not Run

    • 1). Inspect household fuses or breakers. Dryers are often powered by two fuses or breakers. Unscrew blown or cloudy fuses and replace with new fuses. Replace regular fuses with time-delay fuses. Move all breakers to the "On" position.

    • 2). Close the dryer door firmly, so the door latches correctly.

    • 3). Select an appropriate cycle and turn the control knob slightly to the right past the "Off" position. Press the "Start" button firmly. You may need to hold the button in for two to three seconds.

    Does Not Heat

    • 1). Inspect the fuses or breakers. If the dryer uses two fuses or breakers and one is blown or tripped, the drum will turn but it will not produce heat. Reset breakers or replace fuses, as needed.

    • 2). Select a different cycle. The air dry cycle does not produce heat.

    • 3). Turn the valve on the gas supply line counterclockwise to open it fully. If the dryer is not receiving an adequate amount of gas, it will not produce heat.

    Clothing Not Drying Properly

    • 1). Remove the lint screen. Clean it and replace it. Clean the lint screen between loads.

    • 2). Determine the temperature of the room. The dryer will not operate properly in temperatures lower than 45 degrees Fahrenheit.

    • 3). Allow cotton fabrics and clothing rinsed in cold water to dry for a longer period of time. Cotton clothing holds moisture and takes longer to dry. Clothing rinsed in cold water must heat in the dryer before moisture is removed.

    • 4). Remove two to three items in large loads so clothes can tumble freely. Large or heavy loads take longer to dry.

    Staining

    • 1). Add fabric softener sheets before starting a drying cycle. If sheets are added to a load that is partially dry, staining can occur.

    • 2). Clean items thoroughly before placing them in the dryer. Apply a stain remover to heavily-soiled items and ensure stains are removed during washing.

    • 3). Sort items properly. Washing or drying dark and light colors together can cause staining or color changes. Items that are not colorfast should be laundered separately.
