How to Install a Program in XP in Windows 7 Professional
- 1). Open a browser and go to Microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/.
- 2). Click the "Get Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual PC now" button.
- 3). Select "Windows 7 Professional 32-bit" or "Windows 7 Professional 64-bit," depending on the version installed, from the first drop-down box and select "English" from the second drop-down box.
- 4). Click the "Download" button under "Windows XP Mode," next to "Step 2."
- 5). Click "Run," "Next," "Next" and then "Finish."
- 6). Switch back to the webpage and click the "Download" button under "Windows Virtual PC," next to "Step 3."
- 7). Click "Run," "Yes," "I Accept" and then "Restart Now."
- 8). Click the "Start" button, "All Programs," "Windows Virtual PC" and then "Windows XP Mode," after the computer restarts.

Install the desired Windows XP program by inserting the installation CD or browsing to the setup file. - 12

Click the "Start" button, "Windows Virtual PC," "Windows XP Mode Applications" and then the installed Windows XP to open the application in Windows XP Mode.
