How to Do Loose Curls in Hair
- 1). Apply a curl mousse all over the hair from mid shaft to ends. Hair should be slightly damp, but not wet and tangled. The mousse will help hold the curl when styling.
- 2). Spray a volumizing spray at the root of the hair. This will add lift to the style and help encourage a smooth cuticle at the root.
- 3). Blow dry the hair with a round brush from root to ends. Keep the focus mostly on the roots. Twist the brush to pull and smooth the hair at the root until it is dry.
- 4). Let the hair sit for five minutes and spray a heat protectant on the ends of your hair and run your fingers through the hair gently. Finger-combing the heat protectant through the hair hair will help evenly distribute it.
- 5). Wrap a 2 inch section of hair around the curling iron and hold for 5 seconds. it does not matter which direction you curl the hair in. Most stylists choose to curl counter clockwise (away from the face) for a loose feathered look.
- 6). Release the hair and repeat the curling process on the entire head.
- 7). Finger-comb the curls to separate and loosen them, and your style is finished.
