  Landstuhl is located near the German-French border in the southwestern German state of Rhineland-Pflaz. The city is well-known to many as one of the major U.S. Army medical bases. Visitors to Landstuhl will find an array of historical attractions, such as the castle ruins of Nanstein, whose location offers spectacular views of the surrounding natural landscape. Schlosscafe Landstuhl

• The Schlosscafe (Castle Café) Landstuhl sits at the foot of the Nanstein Castle and is part of the Schlosshotel (Castle Hotel) Landstuhl. Even though it's dubbed a café, the establishment is a full-service restaurant that prepares regional specialties for lunch and dinner. The menu includes appetizers and soups like potato leek soup and smoked duck breast. Seafood and meat dishes feature fillet of perch with wine sauce, green asparagus and noodles, and original Wiener (Viennese) Schnitzel with cranberries, potatoes and a salad. The restaurant also offers an Italian, "Princely," Sickinger and American buffet for groups of 40 or more. Each buffet features hot and cold dishes plus an assortment of desserts. A beer garden and barbecue area is open during the summer months.

• Romeo's Pizza & Ribs is located on the outskirts of Landstuhl's old city section. The restaurant prepares pizzas, such as Chicago-style deep dish and other American type fare, like Buffalo wings.
