Valentine Day Card Ideas for Best Friends
- Making an oversized card is a visual way to represent how much your best friend means to you. Purchase red, pink or white poster board, fold it in half, and decorate it to look like a Valentine's Day card. You can use just about any kind of material, such as doilies, ribbon, glitter, foil, pictures, heart cut-outs or fabric. Use over-sized letters on the front and inside. Find a secret hiding spot for the card once you're finished making it so that your friend won't see it until Valentine's Day.
- To add a creative spin on a homemade Valentine's Day card, make it a pop-up. To do this, cut out two cards. Decorate the outside of the first card. On the second card, cut 2 slits on the fold, perpendicular to the fold. Punch the paper between the slits through to the inside of the card. Cut a small heart shape and glue it to the inside where the cut paper folds out. Glue this second card to the inside of the first card to combine the two parts.
- Use a photo to enhance the card. Find a close-up photo with both of you in it. To make the photo look more professional, print it in black and white. Glue the photo to the front center of the card and make a decorative border around it. The added personalization of the card will show how much your friend means to you.
- Make several mini-cards for your best friend. On the inside of each card, you can write a quote or thing that you like or appreciate about your friend. If you have the opportunity, hide the cards around his room on Valentine's Day. Finding the cards will be a fun surprise for your friend, and the added thought will show your dedication to the friendship. As an alternative to hiding the cards in your friend's room, arrange them in a woven basket with a red bow on top.
