How to Make a Circuit Board Pen
- 1). Set the pen on a flat surface such as a workbench or table and measure the width of one face (side) of the pen using the ruler. Note this measurement.
- 2). Lay the circuit board piece horizontally on a flat surface, such as a workbench. Then use the soft tape measure to divide the circuit board piece into three sections that are each as wide and as long as one face of the pen. Mark the divisions on the circuit board with the black marker.
- 3). Cut through the division marks you made in the circuit board piece in the above step using the angle grinder. Set the three divided pieces aside and dispose of the rest of the circuit board piece.
- 4). Repeat Steps Two and Three on the piece of transparent plastic to create three similar divided pieces.
- 5). Place the pen, the three circuit board pieces and the three plastic pieces on the workbench. Apply cyanoacrylate liberally to the bottom side of each of the three circuit board pieces.
- 6). Place the glue side of one of the circuit board pieces against one face of the pen and hold it in place for five minutes. Then place the glue sides of the other circuit board pieces against two other faces of pen.
- 7). Then gently bend those last two circuit board pieces toward each other to meet over top of the remaining face of the pen. The circuit board pieces should form a triangle shape around the body of the pen. Apply cyanoacrylate into the edges of the triangle piece for a firmer hold. Allow the cyanoacrylate to dry for one hour.
- 8). Apply cyanoacrylate liberally to one side of each of the three cut pieces of clear plastic. Then place the glued side of each of the plastic pieces on top of one of the circuit board pieces glued to the pen. Hold each in place for five minutes. The plastic pieces should similarly form a triangle shape around the body of the pen. Apply cyanoacrylate into the edges of the triangle piece for a firmer hold. Allow the cyanoacrylate to dry for one hour.
