How to Go From Perishing to Prevailing

I have a story to share that I believe will benefit you.
I always say and believe that the things that we experience in life are not just for us, but for the benefit of others.
With that said, here goes.
My husband and I moved into a new place in April and prior to moving from our old place, I had vision boards, affirmations, pictures, quotes, scriptures, etc.
posted on the walls of that home.
My vision boards focused on improving my health (of which I lost 15 lbs.
) and expanding my business.
In the process of moving, I took those things down and upon moving into our new place, I never put them back up.
Since staying in our new home, I've been in a "funk".
My vision seemed blank and my drive minimized.
I was in a slump and it was really bothering me.
On October 25th, 2012, everything changed for the better.
I was on the phone with my accountability buddy and she allowed me to vent and express what I was feeling.
I began to share with her how I was feeling and she asked me, "JaNee', what do you want?" I began to tell her all of the things that I want for my company and my life and she told me to put it on paper.
She told me to cut out pictures and put them in places where I'd see them everyday (ie.
Bathroom door, bedroom walls).
As she was speaking, I looked on my wall and realized that the walls in my home represented the walls on the inside of me (my mind).
She asked me, "What is on the walls of your home?" I told her, "Nothing.
They are white and blank.
" Her reply, "Your blank walls represent your blank internal canvas.
" I realized that the walls in our home were a reflection of how I was feeling internally.
Then, everything changed.
So, I am going to share 3 tips with you this week on gaining clarity and becoming certain on your vision:
  1. Answer this question: What do you want? In order to get what you desire, you have to first know what you want.
Before moving on to the other steps, you MUST answer this question.
  2. Write the vision and make it plain.
Those of us who are bible readers are familiar with the scripture, "And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
" Habakkuk 2:2 So I say to you, figure out what you want and put it on paper.
    Get specific.
What does it look like? Who is involved?
  3. Finally, make a vision board.
Cut out photos from magazines and put them on a peg board and hang it somewhere that you'll see it everyday.
    Have fun with it.
