How to Install a Seatbelt Extender
- 1). Locate the safety belt in the vehicle that will accept the seat belt extender.
- 2). Find the female acceptor on the seat belt. This is where the seat belt "clicks."
- 3). Grasp the extender and click the male end of the seat belt extender into the female receptacle on the stock seat belt.
- 4). Click the stock safety belt into the female end of the extender. The extender will now lengthen the seat belt by about 12 inches.
- 5). Use the safety belt as before, there is no need for extender adjustments.
- 1). Follow the seat belt to the floor and locate the bolt that holds the seat belt to the floor.
- 2). Unscrew and remove the bolt using the proper socket and the socket wrench.
- 3). Attach the extender to the floor bolt and fasten the bolt tightly using the socket wrench.
- 4). Secure the extender from the floor to the seat belt. The metal ring on the seat belt extender will bolt to the factory installation hole on the seat belt; this is the hole that was bolted to the car floor.
- 5). Use the seat belt as intended. The extender will be securely fastened in place and lengthen the stock seat belt by about 12 inches.
