Goal-Setting - Five Steps to Transform Your Life Forever

Almost everyone has heard of goal-setting and the incredible advantages it offers.
But when it comes to setting goals, most people either do not do it or set goals that are not well thought out.
Not surprisingly, they fail to realize their objectives and conclude that goal setting is a waste of time.
How would you like to have a tested, systematic process for goal setting? One that can be applied to every area of your life? There is indeed a blueprint for setting goals that can work very well and this article describes this process.
Well-known self-help author from the early 20th century Wallace Wattles says that an ounce of action is worth a pound of theorizing.
This is the absolute truth, in just about every sphere of endeavor.
The following steps will help you set excellent goals, but unless you take action towards realizing those goals, the goals will remain on paper.
Let's get right into it.
Step 1: Make real choices Identify the major areas of your life.
Examples - career / business, health, family, romance, hobbies, etc.
Choose what you would really want to have in each of those areas.
Let your imagination roam free.
Don't place any constraints on it.
Just keep writing down your ideal goals for each area, no matter how far-fetched they seem right now.
Step 2: Get specific While it's OK to lay out a vision or general objectives in Step 1, you must now get very specific about them.
"I want to make more money" is not a goal.
It is merely a wish.
"By December 31 this year, I have increased my income by $40,000" -- that's a much better goal.
It is far more tangible and clear-cut than the first statement.
Don't leave out any detail.
Step 3: Set clear deadlines They say a goal is a dream with a deadline.
Check out the example statement above -- it has a specific deadline.
It says, "By December 31 this year" you will accomplish a specific objective.
Your subconscious mind supports your efforts best when you set a clear, specific deadline (and fill in all other details as well).
Moreover, if you don't have a deadline, even your conscious mind tends to take it easy.
And you will end up not accomplishing your goal in a reasonable time-frame.
Step 4: Form detailed plans In the previous three steps, you have written down your dreams, made them specific and set down deadlines by which you want to reach those goals.
At this point, you should sit down and carefully think through each goal.
How are you going to accomplish it? What sacrifices are you prepared to make to get there? Write down plans for goal accomplishment on paper.
Do this for all your goals.
Step 5: Take action If you do all the above four steps and do not take action, your goals will remain forever unrealized.
You must be prepared to step out of your comfort zone and make things happen.
So get to work immediately on making those goals real! This can't be stressed enough.
Use these five steps goal-setting process on a regular basis and watch your life magically transform for the better!
