Installing Aftermarket Fog Lights
- 1). Disconnect the black negative battery cable on the vehicle battery.
- 2). Locate where the fog lights will attach. Most aftermarket fog lights use existing holes on the vehicle. Insert the mounting bolts that come with the installation kit and secure both fog lights to the vehicle.
- 3). Route the electrical wires up into the engine bay. Tie-wrap the wires as you go. This will save time. Mount the fog light control relay on the engine-bay wall close to the battery. Connect the positive red wire from the fog lights to the positive lights terminal on the relay. Connect the black wire from the fog lights to a metal part of the vehicle frame.
- 4). Connect the relay ground wire to a metal part on the vehicle frame. Drill a hole through the engine-bay firewall and insert a grommet into the hole to protect the fog light switch. Connect one end of the relay control wire to the relay's control terminal. Run the relay control wire through the grommet hole and into the passenger compartment.
- 5). Mount the relay control switch to the dashboard and connect the relay control wire to one of the two terminals on the control switch. Connect the second terminal of the control switch to a metal part of the car frame. Test the fog lights by turning the control switch to the "ON" position.
