  Kitchen pantry cabinets are not all the same. Advanced technologies and design developments have created a wide range of creative new cabinet ideas, making kitchen pantries more useful, organized, and attractive. From pull-out kitchen pantry cabinets to organizing with magnets, a kitchen pantry doesn't have to be a plain box.
  
  

Pull-Outs

• Pull-outs are vertically oriented cabinets, like very tall drawers with multiple shelves. These innovative organizers often open on both sides, allowing quick access. The unique shape and accessibility of pull-outs allows you to organize items that might be more difficult to store in other areas.
  
  

Open Shelving

• Open shelving can look a little messy sometimes, but it allows easy access during cooking and meal preparation. Replace mismatched boxes with matching storage containers and place similar items in bins or baskets to quickly tame the disorder and add attractive neatness to your shelves.
  
  

Magnetization

• Attach a sheet of metal to one of the walls of your cabinet, either vertically or horizontally. Affix magnets to the undersides of small storage containers, and arrange them on the metal sheet. This magnetized system is a great way to take advantage of wall space and keep everything in its place.
  
  

Chalkboard Paint

• Use chalkboard paint on the front of your pantry cabinet doors so that members of your household can leave notes for one another. Use magnetic paint underneath if you want to place magnets on it as well.

• Transfer the contents of many of your pantry items, from cereals to baking supplies to spices, into uniform labeled storage containers. This system allows you to keep your pantry contents easily organized and better preserved, and lets you use your space in a more efficient manner.
  
  

Adjustable Shelves

• Adjustable shelves allow you to change the size and depth of your storage spaces, and alter the organizational layout of your pantry as your needs change over the years. Shallow shelves are useful for smaller items and deeper shelves can accommodate larger items and taller stacks. Choose a sturdy variety of shelving so that shelves don't break when moved.
  
  

Pegboard

• Attach a sheet of pegboard to the inside of your pantry cabinet door, or on an unused wall. Attach hooks, and then hang shallow items on the pegboard. You will dramatically increase your storage space while allowing the rest of your pantry to remain useful and accessible.
  
  

Pocket Windows and Doors

• If your pantry cabinet runs from floor to ceiling, consider a pocket door. Pocket doors tuck directly into the surrounding wall, making them invisible and out of the way when open, and allowing the pantry's contents to remain easily accessible during cooking. Pocket windows can work well for the cabinet fronts in smaller pantries.
  
  

Drawers

• Install drawers, bins, or shelves that pull out like drawers. These organizational structures allow you to have easy access to all the items in your pantry, even items stored in the back.
