How to Fix an HP Officejet 7310Xi Scanner
- 1). Open the cover located on the side of the printer's ADF.
- 2). Look for the ADF sensor, which is made of black plastic. It should be located on the inside of the cover you opened.
- 3). Reposition the sensor so that both posts are securely anchored in the small holes provided. You should be able to pivot the sensor freely once it is installed correctly.
- 1). Turn on the Officejet 7310Xi, then pull out the power plug in the back of the printer. Pull out the USB cable from the printer, then the computer as well. Wait a few moments, then reconnect the USB cable.
- 2). Remove the printer's power cord from its electrical outlet, then plug it back in. Plug the other end of the power cord into the back of the printer.
- 3). Turn off the printer and open the scanner lid. Clean the scanning glass and underside of the scanner lid with glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth. Use a separate microfiber cloth to dry the scanning glass so you do not leave spots or streaks.
- 4). Turn the printer on and load paper into the paper tray. Close the scanner lid and press the "Start Copy" button. If the printout comes out with lines on the paper, take the printer to a service shop for repairs.
