How to Use a Motorola MicroSD Memory Card

    Installing SD card

    • 1). Locate the MicroSD card's port on your cell phone. The location of this port will differ depending on what Motorola phone you have. Some models have the port under the battery, and others have the SD card port on the perimeter of the phone.

    • 2). Insert the SD card into the port. Push it in the direction specified on the phone. Since it's hard to know if when it is in fully or not, you will have to push it in until it clicks.

    • 3). Use your phone as normal. If you have any music or pictures on this SD card, they will pull up automatically, when you enter their folders on your phone.

    Creating Files

    • 1). Remove the microSD card from the phone and insert it into a SD card adapter. This is a full sized standard SD card shell. Insert the microSD card into the slot in this shell.

    • 2). Insert the full sized SD card into the SD card reader on your laptop. If you have a PC, you probably won't have an SD card reader preinstalled on your system. If this is the case, you can purchase an external SD card reader from an electronic or computer store.

    • 3). Open "Start" from your computer, and then the "My Computer" folder. Locate the drive that reads "SD" or "Storage Disc" and double-click it. Once opened, minimize the folder.

    • 4). Open the folder that houses the files that you want to transfer over to your microSD card. Since these cards are being read in your handset, you may only be able to put pictures, short video clips or music on them. Unless you have a smart phone, you will not be able to read documents from your handset.

    • 5). Drag the file down to the microSD card folder.
