I found out about this campground from family, and I RV camped there in September 2009.
Describe your camping trip:
I met up with my brother, who had an RV. I flew in from Freeport, Florida. He brought his kids, and we had a great time. The resort is large and spacious. Being an outdoors enthusiast, I was skeptical at first thinking most resorts offer little room to move and lack the atmosphere of the great outdoors.
Not so with this place. There was karaoke on the weekends, movies every night. Bonfires in these huge rock fire pits. The karaoke stage was in a big covered open pavilion next to the kids playground they called Fort Winnebago. I enjoyed the river walk. It had exercise stations all along the path to the Toutle River, where at the end was a picnic area and a rock fireplace next to the river. The fishing was great! I highly recommend this resort. First class all the way!
Pros: Plenty of activities in and around the resort. Friendly and helpful staff. Attention to detail in laying out the park. Elbow room.
Cons: It was a bummer the swimming pool and store weren't quite finished, but it appeared they were almost complete and will be ready the next time we visit the resort.
Nearby attractions: Toutle River, Cowlitz River, Mt. Saint Helens, hiking and fishing.
Further comments: Great family park!
