    • 1). Fill a sink with hand-hot water. Place the shaving brush in the water to soak until you are ready to use it.

    • 2). Splash your face with water from the sink to dampen the skin and open pores.

    • 3). Massage a few drops of pre-shave oil into your whiskers.

    • 4). Remove the brush from the sink and let the excess water drain off the bristles.

    • 5). Swirl the ends of the bristles in an open tub of shaving cream until you work up a lather.

    • 6). Apply a thick layer of shaving lather to your face and neck in an up-and-down painting motion.

    • 7). Sweep the blade over an area of scruff in a single downward stroke in the direction of hair growth, without applying any pressure to the blade.

    • 8). Shave the entire face and neck area in the same way. Avoid passing over the same patch of hair more than once unless absolutely necessary.

    • 9). Splash your face with cold water to remove leftover shaving cream and close pores. Pat your skin dry with a towel.

      Lightly massage a post-shave moisturizer over your face and neck.
