How to Install a Hood Vent
- 1). Turn off the power to the kitchen by turning off the circuit at the circuit panel.
- 2). Remove the filter and plate that covers the fan and wiring. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws that secure the plate to the unit.
- 3). Disconnect the electrical wiring by unscrewing the wire covers and separating the wires.
- 4). Locate the screws that are securing the hood vent to the underside of the cabinet and remove them.
- 5). Take the old vent out and set it aside.
- 1). Run the electrical wire from the wall through the vent hood and place it under the cabinet. Attach the vent hood to the underside of the cabinet using the screws provided with the unit.
- 2). Connect the electrical wiring to the hood vent. Twist the black wires together and place a wire cover over the top. Twist the white wires together and place a wire cover over the top. Connect the ground wire to the green screw on the hood vent to complete the electrical connections.
- 3). Place the plate cover over the fan and wiring and secure the plate cover with screws.
- 4). Turn the power back on at the circuit panel and test the vent hood.
Remove Old Hood Vent
Install New Vent Hood
