How to Enable Delegation on Windows 2000 Server
- 1). Click the Windows "Start" button. Select "Run." Enter "cmd" into the Windows 2000 command text box and click "OK." This opens the command prompt.
- 2). Type the following command into the MS DOS prompt:
setspn -A MSSQLSvc/host sqlaccount
The "host" is the shared server where you want to delegate account access. Replace "sqlaccount" to set the account that shares delegation with other servers. - 3). Press the "Enter" key. This executes the command. It may take several seconds to verify the credentials for the user.
