    • 1). Change the channel using the "CH +" or "CH-" button -- the sound problem may be coming from the TV station and not your set. If other channels have sound, wait until the station you were watching corrects its sound issues. You can also contact your television service provider.

    • 2). Press the "VOL +" or "MUTE" button. The TV's volume could be turned down to its lowest setting or the speakers could be muted. Move the remote closer to the TV and check the batteries if the volume does not change when you press the buttons. Use the "VOL" button on the left side of the television if the remote is not working.

    • 3). Check the connections at the back of the TV if you are using an external amplifier or surround-sound system. A loose connection could be cutting off the signal from the television. Make sure the sound is turned up on the amplifier and check the speaker connections if the sound problem is restricted to a particular part of the surround sound system.
