How to Clean a LaserJet Q6000A Toner
- 1). Open the toner cartridge cover and remove the Q6000A toner cartridge. Sit the cartridge on a desk or table with the bottom facing up.
- 2). Clean the entire surface of the cartridge with a soft cloth. Change cloths as the one you are using becomes contaminated with toner residue. Continue cleaning the outside surface of the cartridge until no more residue comes off.
- 3). Hold the Q6000A cartridge with the bottom facing you and locate the flap that covers the toner roller. Carefully slide the flap back and clean the roller with a soft cloth. Continue cleaning the roller until no more toner residue comes off, then let the flap slide back into place.
- 4). Clean the interior of the printer with a small vacuum cleaner like the kind used to clean computer components. Over time, paper dust and toner residue accumulate inside the printer, and this can cause a deterioration in print quality.
- 5). Place the cleaned Q6000A cartridge back in the printer and close the toner cartridge door. Load a few laser printer cleaning sheets into the paper tray and run them through the printer. These sheets have a slightly sticky surface designed to attract paper dust and ink residue and remove it from the paper path. Laser printer cleaning sheets are available at office supply stores and on the Internet as well.
