Provino's Italian Restaurant

• Provino's began in 1977 in Atlanta and has since spread around the suburbs and into Tennessee. The menu features classics like chicken Parmesan and seafood cioppino. Consider trying a filled pasta, such as the cannelloni Genovese, which is stuffed with ground veal, spinach and cheese then baked in an alfredo-marinara sauce. Dessert items include spumoni and panna cotta and the children's menu features exclusively Italian cuisine at a lesser cost. • In 1989 the first restaurant in this Georgia chain opened in Roswell; it has since expanded into Kennesaw with a branch in Town Center Plaza. Some items are still made from scratch each day, such as their pizza dough, garlic rolls and sauces. In addition to pasta and pizza, menu items include paninis, calzones, strombolis and classics like chicken cannelloni and eggplant Parmesan. For dessert, try the zuppa englaise, a chocolate-vanilla sponge cake layered with Bavarian cream and soaked in Amaretto rum and sherry. • This Houston-based chain serves both lunch and dinner on weekends but dinner only Monday through Friday.
