- 1). Click "Start" in the lower-left corner of your screen.
- 2). Click "Control Panel."
- 3). Click "Add or Remove Programs." The Add or Remove Programs screen will open up and a list of programs installed on your computer will be populated.
- 4). Click the program you no longer want installed on your computer. Right-click on the program and then click "Remove" or "Change/Remove." The uninstaller for that program will open. Follow the instructions to remove the program.

- 2). Right-click your primary hard drive, which is typically the "C:" drive, located "Hard Disk Drives" at the top of the My Computer window. Click "Properties." The "Local Disk Properties" window will appear on your screen.

- 4). Select the "Disk Cleanup" tab. Make sure all of the boxes are checked and click "OK."
- 5). Click "Yes" when the window pops up asking if you are certain you want to delete these files.

- 3). Select the "Tools" tab. Click "Defragment Now." The Disk Defragmentor window will open up.
- 4). Click your primary hard drive in the upper part of the Disk Defragmentor window. Click "Defragment" toward the bottom part of the Disk Defragmentor window. The disk defragmentation process may take several hours.
- 5). Click "Close" when a message pops up telling you that disk defragmentation is complete.
