How to Install Halo Headlight Wires
- 1). Separate the black and white wires on the rear of the halo headlights into one pair of black wires and one pair of white wires.
- 2). Strip the insulation from the end of each wire to expose 1 inch of bare copper lead.
- 3). Braid the leads of the white wires around each other and do the same for the black wires.
- 4). Insert the braided lead of the white wires through a female crimp connector and, with your pliers, clamp it down over the lead. Seal the connection with electrical tape. Repeat this process for the black wires.
- 5). Strip the insulation from the spare red and black wire that comes with the halo headlights to expose a 1-inch bare metal lead on each wire.
- 6). Insert the bare metal lead for the red wire through a male crimp connector, clamp it down and seal the connection with tape as you did for the pair of white and black wires. Repeat this step for the spare black wire.
- 7). Determine which of the wires on the vehicle's headlight wiring harness is the positive wire, the one with power coming through. Usually the positive wire is the red wire. Connect one lead of the voltmeter to the car battery and the other to the wires of the wiring harness to check which one has power.
- 8). Connect the spare red wire with the male crimp connector to the positive wire from the vehicle's headlight wiring harness using your quick connector. Clamp the quick connector down with the pliers. Repeat this step with the spare black wire and the neutral wire from the wiring harness.
