How to Reset the Computer for a 1995 Dodge Intrepid

    • 1). Turn off the engine of your car, then open the hood and secure it with the hood prop.

    • 2). Locate the battery, which can be found at the front right side of the engine compartment.

    • 3). Identify the positive terminal on the battery. The positive terminal will be marked with a + symbol or the letters POS.

    • 4). Loosen the nut on the side of the lead (wire) attached to the positive terminal, using a crescent wrench. Do not remove the nut entirely.

    • 5). Twist the positive lead back and forth to loosen and remove it from the positive terminal.

    • 6). Wait at least 30 minutes for the computer to completely reset.

    • 7). Reattach the positive lead to the positive terminal by gently pressing the lead onto the terminal until it is firmly in place.

    • 8). Tighten the nut with the crescent wrench to secure the lead to the terminal.

    • 9). Close the hood and start your car. The car's computer system should now be reset.
