    • 1). Determine the location where you will install the dishwasher. Remove any doors from the cabinet using the screwdriver.

    • 2). Measure the opening of the cabinet after you remove the doors using a tape measure. The opening must be 24 inches wide and 34 inches high from the floor. Mark the cabinet where you must make cuts using a pencil.

    • 3). Cut a starter hole into the face of the cabinet using a drill and spade bit. This will allow you to use a jigsaw to cut the opening to 24 inches wide. Insert the blade of the jigsaw into the hole you just drilled with the spade bit. Cut the opening around the pencil marks and the final result will be your opening for the dishwasher that is 24 inches wide by 34 inches high.

    • 4). Remove the floor from inside the cabinet by cutting it with the jigsaw. Cut holes into the cabinet wall between the sink and the dishwasher bay using a drill and hole saw. You will need two holes to pass the water supply line and the dishwasher drain through to the sink.
