How do I Replace Toyota 4-Runner 3.0 Battery Cables?
- 1). Raise the hood of the 4Runner. Loosen the negative cable from the battery with a wrench. Remove the positive cable from the terminal with a wrench.
- 2). Locate the end of the negative battery cable bolted to the frame rail. Remove the bolt with a wrench and pull the cable out of the compartment. Insert the new cable and secure the bolt with a wrench.
- 3). Remove the positive battery cable from the starter using a wrench. Connect the new cable to the post on the starter and secure the retaining nut with a wrench.
- 4). Connect the positive cable to the battery terminal. Tighten the connection with a wrench. Repeat the process for the negative cable.
