Beginners Piano Lessons Have Improved
Unless you want to get yourself an expensive piano teacher, your only option, until now, has been to get a teach-yourself piano book. Well, I've tried dozens of them and let be tell you, they all have a serious problem that makes them difficult to learn from.
It makes sense when you actually sit down and think about it. What you're trying to learn from these books is how to make sounds. It's generally agreed that the best way to learn anything is to follow the example of someone else. I'm not talking about parrot-like copying, naturally you need to understand what it is you're doing, but you need an example to emulate so that you know that you're doing it properly.
Now the basic problem with getting your beginners piano lessons from a book is that the book is silent. Always have been, always will be. And it's just not possible to provide an example of a passage of music that you can emulate from a printed paper book. This is why it's always been so hard to learn how to play piano from a teach-yourself book. The two media - visual printed material and auditory input - are mutually exclusive.
And when you're a beginner and have little understanding or experience of musical notation, it's crucial that you have some sort of auditory guidance that you can follow. Now however, with the new, downloadable, courses of beginners piano lessons that you can buy for less that the price of a single lesson from a teacher, everything is different.
Each lesson contains some text, explaining what it is that you're about to learn. An elementary piece of music that you'll need to examine and begin to understand and magically, a button you click on to hear the piece being played as it should be, by a professional. Fantastic. Now you're fully equipped to have a go for yourself. You can, obviously, repeat it as many times as you want, to make sure you understand it properly.
In this way you can be playing songs that you've always wanted in a matter of hours, not weeks as it would have been with the old book system. There's just no comparison between the new beginners piano lessons and the old, defunct, book type. Over to you - all you need to do is download the lessons, read and listen and get playing at last.!
