• The cabin air filter on the 2004 Mercedes C230 is a rectangular component that slides into a housing on the passenger side of the engine compartment. The OEM part number for the air filter is 2038300118.
  
  

Purpose

• The cabin air filter, also known as an air conditioning filter, pollen filter or particulate filter, removes dust, allergens and other particulates before they can get into the passenger cabin. The filter will clog more quickly and require replacement in dusty environments and urban areas where heavy traffic is the norm.
  
  

Replacement

• To replace the cabin air filter, open the hood and locate the filter housing on the passenger side of the vehicle by the firewall. Unsnap the clips on the top of the housing and flip it over to reveal the filter. Pull the filter out, replace it with a new one and reverse the preceding step to reinstall the housing.
