    • 1). Make a slipknot with the yarn and place it on the right-hand needle. Pull tight on the knot to secure.

    • 2). Insert the tip of the left-hand needle into the knot and wrap the yarn around it, from back to front. Pull the needle back out and through the loop. Place the loop onto the right-hand needle to create a stitch.

    • 3). Repeat step 2 until you have 16 stitches on the right-hand needle.

    • 4). Insert the tip of the left-hand needle into the first stitch on the right-hand needle. Wrap the yarn around the left-hand needle, from back to front, to make a new stitch. Slide the left-hand needle out and allow the old stitch to fall away. Repeat for the remaining 15 stitches on the row.

    • 5). Continue knitting every stitch on every row until the scarf measures 48 inches or your desired length.

    • 6). Knit the first two stitches to begin binding off. This prevents your work from unravelling. Use the right-hand needle to lift the first knitted stitch over the second and slide off the left-hand needle.

    • 7). Continue binding off by knitting one stitch and sliding the first over the second until you have only one stitch remaining. Thread the working yarn through this needle and pull tightly to secure.
