    • 1). Install the 4-gauge power wire, RCA interconnects and remote turn on lead in the vehicle according to the wiring kit's instructions. Unhook the car or truck's negative battery cable to prevent an electrical short while installing.

    • 2). Take the Rockford Fosgate P200-2 out of the packaging and set the amplifier to the side. Hook up the speaker wire supplied from the wiring kit to the coaxial speakers or subwoofer(s).

    • 3). Mount the amplifier to the desired area of the vehicle that will allow the P200-2 to cool properly. Connect the remote turn on lead to the corresponding remote turn on terminal using a screwdriver.

    • 4). Connect the 4-gauge power cable to the amplifier's positive power terminal. Using a wire crimping tool, strip off an adequate portion of the supplied 4-gauge ground cable and crimp on a ring connector.

    • 5). Attach the negative ground cable (end with the ring connector installed) to a sufficient ground point on the vehicle's body. Use a wire brush to scrape away any paint that would cause a bad connection.

    • 6). Connect the ground wire to the negative terminal on the amplifier. Check the wire connections for tightness.

    • 7). Connect the speaker wires to the amplifier. For coaxial speakers, connect right-side speaker wires to the corresponding negative and positive right-channel terminals on the amplifier.

    • 8). Connect the left-side coaxial speaker wires to the corresponding negative and positive left-channel terminals on the amplifier. Connect subwoofers in the same manner as coaxial speakers.

    • 9). Bridge the subwoofer(s) to one channel operation for maximum power gains. To bridge the subwoofer(s), connect the positive speaker wire(s) to the left-positive amplifier terminal and the negative speaker wire(s) to the left-negative amplifier terminal.

Connect the RCA signal interconnects to the RCA female inputs on the amplifier. Reconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable to the battery.

Flip the amplifier's crossover switch to "LP" for subwoofer operation or "HP" for coaxial speaker use. Full-range coaxial speakers should utilize the "AP" setting on the amplifier's crossover.

Set the gain setting on the amplifier to "MIN," start the vehicle, turn on the stereo system and verify amplifier power light operation. Turn up the stereo volume to the maximum amount before the sound from the speakers starts to distort, positively adjust the gain setting on the amplifier before the point of distortion from the connected speakers.
