Social Anxiety Panic Attack - How To Cure It
As someone who has suffered from social anxiety panic attacks, I have gone through several phases to eventually overcome it: denial, hiding it, learning to accept it and working through it.
At the time I read a book about someone famous- and there unique approach caught my attention - they laughed at the fact they suffered from social anxiety panic attacks.
So I slowly took on this new approach to my anxiety panic attacks- I began telling my family and friends in a matter of fact way - "by the way did you know that I suffer from anxiety panic attacks?".
The large majority of my friends did not make a big deal about it, which was obviously a massive relief.
I started to feel like I was making progress to overcoming my issue.
I have learned heaps about social anxiety since then- perhaps the biggest thing is that social anxiety comes down to feeling 'overwhelmed'.
When you suffer from an anxiety panic attack as a result it is as if your world is shrinking- you only feel comfortable in smaller and smaller places.
But if you accept it, you will open yourself back up.
Here is a basic plan of action: 1.
Accept the situation - that you suffer from social anxiety panic attacks.
2.
Start engaging in social situations for small periods of time - like dipping your toes in a hot bath.
3.
Taught to those close to you- and be unapologetic in explaining your social anxiety panic attacks.
4.
As mentioned keep your social interactions short- maybe only 5 minutes.
5.
Gradually increase your social interactions- very gradually- maybe only by 10 minutes at a time.
6.
Continue and do not give up.
Success only comes to those who persist- don't give in one day and say "oh I would rather stay at home".
Force yourself to keep up your social interactions, and you will overcome your social anxiety panic attacks for good.
Conclusion Social anxiety panic attacks can really affect your life.
They can take hold and pull you away from your loved ones.
With persistence and the right attitude you can overcome them, and be on your way to a life free of social anxiety panic attacks.
