    • 1). Put on exam gloves. This will keep your exposure to tick diseases down to a minimum.

    • 2). Visually inspect your deer for ticks. Look especially under the legs, on the belly, around the ears and genitals.

    • 3). Pluck off ticks with your gloved hands, comb or tweezers and drop the ticks into a jar of Isopropyl alcohol to kill them. Put the lid on the jar and discard it.

    • 4). Rinse the comb and tweezers with Isopropyl alcohol to prevent infections.

    • 5). Skin and field dress deer as usual.
