How to Kill the Ticks on a Deer You Shot
- 1). Put on exam gloves. This will keep your exposure to tick diseases down to a minimum.
- 2). Visually inspect your deer for ticks. Look especially under the legs, on the belly, around the ears and genitals.
- 3). Pluck off ticks with your gloved hands, comb or tweezers and drop the ticks into a jar of Isopropyl alcohol to kill them. Put the lid on the jar and discard it.
- 4). Rinse the comb and tweezers with Isopropyl alcohol to prevent infections.
- 5). Skin and field dress deer as usual.
