God Cares for You Bible Crafts
- The Bible teaches that God protects those who honor, love and follow Him. Children learn that God never rests so that he can protect them, whether they are awake or sleeping. The pillowcase craft, called the Jesus Pillow, involves drawing pictures on white pillowcases so the children can color the pictures and take the pillowcases home. To prevent color transfer, slide a piece of cardboard inside the pillowcase so the children can color their pictures. Draw a smiling sunrise on one side of the pillowcase, with the words, "Rise and shine, give God the glory, glory, children of the Lord." On the opposite side, have the children draw or color a rainbow and write, "Watch over me as I sleep, Jesus."
- The story of Moses and the Pharaoh teaches more lessons about God's protection. Pharaoh and the Egyptians held the Israelites as slaves. Moses asked God to protect the Israelites and let them leave Egypt. The Bible study teacher makes pyramid templates with four equilateral triangles that have tabs on each side for gluing. The students each receive four triangles, which they glue at each side to make their pyramids. To make their pyramids more realistic, they cover their pyramids with a thin coating of glue, then sprinkle sand over the glue. To make the pyramid stronger, the students should back each template piece with a cardboard triangle.
