How to Create Handmade Cards
- 1). Place a nine-inch-by-five-inch piece of card stock on a flat surface so the longer edge of the paper lies horizontally in front of you.
- 2). Fold the card stock into thirds starting with the right edge of the paper. Create a vertical crease three inches from the right edge of the card stock by folding the paper inward. Use a bone folder to make a smooth crease.
- 3). Repeat on the left edge of the paper. This layer should overlap the previous layer.
- 4). Open the card by pressing the two flaps outward. There should be three even sections formed in the card stock.
- 5). Cut a two-inch square in the center section of the card stock using a craft knife so that the top of the square is two inches from the top of the card stock.
- 6). Press double stick tape to the left edge, or the first section, of the card stock.
- 7). Arrange the scarf on the card stock so it will show through the window on the center of the card stock. Keep the item as evenly distributed as possible. As an alternative, you can place a picture in the window for a personalized card.
- 8). Fold the left flap of the card inward and press the double stick tape to create a seal.
- 9). Add a special message on the inside of the card with a colored pen. Enclose the card in an envelope and give as a gift.
