How to Make Beaded Butterfly Bobby Pins
- 1). Cut one 8-inch wire from the spool of 28-gauge wire with either scissors or a wire cutter. Use a ruler to measure. Bend the 8-inch wire slightly in half and thread 25 size-11 seed beads onto the middle of the wire. Bend the wire and rotate in a 360 degree angle to create a small loop, which will be the small first wing of the butterfly.
- 2). Separate the two wires and thread 40 beads onto the one wire for the large wing. Using the needle-nose pliers, loop the large wing of the butterfly to connect to the small wing. Bend the wire and rotate once to connect.
- 3). Repeat to create the left wings of the butterfly. Bend the wire ending for the small wing and rotate once. Trim with scissors or wire cutter.
- 4). Create the body of the butterfly by cutting a 5-inch wire from the 28-gauge wire spool with a wire cutter or scissors. Measure with your ruler. Thread 25 beads onto the wire and bend back three to four beads at the uncrimped end and loop it in between the beads and trim.
- 5). Cut another 5-inch piece of wire from the 28-gauge spool, and connect the wings to the body by wrapping around the middle of the wings securely. Attach the butterfly to the bobby pin by wrapping the remaining wire connecting the wings to the body to the bobby pin.
