How to Bake Candy Decorations
- 1). Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Cut the aluminum foil into squares that are a little larger than the cookie cutter, leaving about 1 inch extra on every side.. Place the cookie cutter on the aluminum foil and fold the aluminum foil up the side of the cutter, creating a "bottom" out of the foil. Place the cookie cutter on the baking sheet.
- 2). Spray the insides of the cookie cutter with nonstick cooking spray, being sure to coat the bottom and sides well. Place the hard candies in a solid layer on the bottom of the cookie cutter, against the aluminum foil.
- 3). Place the cookie sheet in the oven and bake for about 10 minutes. Check the candy frequently because ovens vary. The candy is ready when it is completely melted and has the consistency of syrup.
- 4). Remove from the oven, and coat the candy in sprinkles. Allow the candy to cool for about two minutes, and then puncture the top of the shape with a chopstick or skewer, making a hole completely through the candy. Make sure the hole is centered because this is how the candy will hang.
- 5). When the candy has cooled completely, feed ribbon through the hole and tie it in a knot. Hang the candy on your Christmas tree, in windows or even from the rearview mirror of your car.
