    Pumpkin Photo Frames

    • Create pumpkin photo frames to display your favorite fall-related photographs. Use a sharp knife to cut the skin of a pumpkin. Do not cut all the way through to the interior of the pumpkin. Make a rectangular, or whatever shape the photo you want to display is, in the side of the pumpkin. Make the shape slightly larger than the photo, remembering not to cut all the way through the pumpkin's skin. After the side of the pumpkin where the shape was cut has dried, hot glue a photo to where the cut is. Do not use original photos, as they are likely to be permanently damaged from the pumpkin, particularly when the pumpkin deteriorates. Use pictures such as fall or harvest-related photos with an overall orange or fall color motif. Make several frames from varying sized pumpkins and arrange on a table to display seasonal pictures. Use close-up photos of faces to make a jack-o-lantern with a twist. Paint the pumpkin white and insert a picture of a little girl dressed as Cinderella to give nod to the pumpkins that turned into the coach. It's a frame perfect for a princess party decoration.

    Carved Pumpkin Face

    • Make a creative carving with a few simple tools. Create a portrait jack-o-lantern featuring your favorite face. Take a close-up photograph of someone special's face. It's best to take a photo with deep shadows and a lot of contrast. After the photo has been printed, use tissue or tracing paper to trace the photo. Cut the traced face into sections, not ignoring the shadowed area. Use water soluble glue or tape to attach the new templates to a pumpkin that has been opened at the top and hallowed out. Trace around the templates with a pencil or pen and then proceed to cut out the "negative" spaces of the picture on the pumpkin. Remove the template and wash the surface with a cloth. Insert an LED candle into the interior of the pumpkin to see your new "face" glow.

    Collaged and Painted Pumpkin Face

    • A fun project that can be enjoyed by adults and kids alike is the craft of painting on a pumpkin. Make sure the pumpkin surface is clean and free of dirt. Take a pile of photographs of family and friends. Close-up face shots work best. Cut out individual features such as eyes, noses and mouths. Arrange a face on the pumpkin consisting of mixed-up collage of photos. Use your mom's eyes, brother's nose, sisters mouth and dad's mustache photos pieces to create a funny photo face. Use glue to attach the face to the pumpkin. Use paint and other accessories to embellish the funny photo face.

    Pumpkin-Theme Paper Crafts

    • Use photographs, pumpkin stickers, colorful paper and other items to create scrapbook pages and other paper craft items. Document a day at the pumpkin patch with fun close-up photos of the participant's faces. Use orange-colored paper as a background and pumpkin photos and stickers to embellish. Alternately, make cards showing pumpkin carving activities and embellish the card with actual pumpkin seeds obtained during the pumpkin carving activity.
