Protecting the Surface During Heavy Use

    • 1). Place a large piece of cardboard and lay it on top of your table.

    • 2). Cut the cardboard to the size of your table and use clips to fasten it to your tabletop.

    • 3). Place your tablecloth over your table and make sure the table pad is secured tightly to the tabletop.

    Other Methods

    • 1). Keep the tabletop out of high humidity and direct sunlight. This can soften and distort the tabletop.

    • 2). Use a pad or cover anytime you are placing something hot or sharp on the tabletop.

    • 3). Use coasters with your table and do not allow wet items to sit very long on top.

    • 4). Use a wax protecting finish polish on your tabletop. These can be bought at furniture stores, but be sure to use them sparingly as they can create a buildup over time.

    • 5). Place felt under any lamps or objects that stay on the table permanently. Also, use a pad when writing on the table with a pen or pencil.
