    • In several states some criminal laws serve as the exclusive criminal code. Texas, Maryland and Arizona are among those that have adopted comprehensive criminal laws that are very detailed, covering criminal responsibility, criminal procedure, offenses and penalties.

    Texas criminal law

    • In Texas the criminal or penal code, outlines the law and penalties for those who break it. Crimes included in this criminal code include but are not limited to human trafficking, kidnapping, homicide, assault, sexual offenses, domestic abuses, theft, fraud, Internet crime, telecommunications crime, insurance fraud, drug abuse, drug trafficking, obstruction of justice, weaponry, gambling and indecency.

    Maryland criminal law

    • Maryland has adopted criminal law comprising the exclusive criminal code. Divided into 14 titles surrounding weapon crimes, administrative crimes, fraud-related crimes, theft crimes, homicides, crimes against property, gambling and assault, Maryland's criminal law also determines the rules of sentencing, including mandatory sentences for crimes of violence and ranges of minimum and maximum penalties.

    Arizona criminal law

    • Arizona's criminal code encompasses 46 chapters, which define offenses and penalties for the dictionary of possible offenses and crimes. Arizona's criminal law also gives explicit directives on the procedures for sentencing and imprisonment, criminal responsibility, fraud, terrorism, prostitution, civil rights, fines and trespassing laws on nuclear weapon factories and military bases. The two miscellaneous categories under this criminal law classify issues such as extradition, arrests, warrants, peace officers, bail and criminal trials.
