Life is about growth and progress whether we really want to engage in that process or not.
So here is a really cool thought to consider next time you want to change your life for the better that can make the process a whole lot easier; When you want to change your life for the better, it is because you want happiness.
Happiness is where we are all going and anything we try, do, or say is ultimately geared towards creating more happiness.
That includes solving problems and getting rid of things we don't like in our lives.
More happiness is the end result we all agree we are seeking behind EVERY CHANGE.
There are some simple steps to be happy and ultimately create the change in your life that you seek.
The first step to be happy is to recognize how your current ways of changing your life not serving you.
Most of us go about changing our lives by trying to fix what we see with our physical eyes.
For example; if we don't like someone then we try and make them go away.
If we don't like the way we look then we seek to like ourselves by changing our body image.
If we have a problem like needing money to create more freedom in our lives, then we go out and look for a better job.
Happiness and the problems we see in our lives are a lot like a tree.
We would all agree that apple trees produce what? - Apples.
Orange trees produce oranges and so on.
Happiness is the root of our changes, the root of our lives, everything we aspire to become, every relationship we have or hope to have, and every creation we build into our lives.
Happiness in the definition of the tree and the fruit that the happiness tree produces is peace, joy, love, laughter, ease, freedom, abundance, health, and happiness.
When we go through our lives trying to fix our problems without looking at the source of the tree, it is like trying to glue oranges on an apple tree.
You don't become a happy tree by trying to change the actual fruit you are producing in your lives.
For example; when you don't like our body's appearance then you are unhappy.
So you seek to change the way you look by using makeup, different clothes, and losing weight - all the time thinking that will create happiness.
These are all external fruits and by attempting to change them externally, you are in essence taking the apple off the tree and trying to glue an orange in its place and then later can't figure out why the tree keeps growing new apples.
Regardless of how hard you try to replace the apples with oranges, the apple tree keeps growing new apples because IT'S AN APPLE TREE.
You must change the roots or the "inside" of yourself in order to produce the fruit of happiness.
Using that same example, how you feel about your body image comes from within you.
Everything outside regarding your body image is just the "fruit" or product of what's inside.
Using makeup, lose weight, and so on is like gluing happiness on a misery tree.
(Please don't think I'm against using makeup or losing weight because I'm not, I'm saying that seeking happiness from those things a misunderstanding in terms of trying to change your life for the better.
) You may get a temporary lift in your happiness because you get to pretend for that moment that you are something you are not, but it is short lived and never sticks.
Just like that habit that you can never seem to really change permanently.
So to sum it up, you must stop seeking to change your life by using "external" means, it's not working for you or you would have changed already.
The second step to be happy is to recognize your own fruit.
What kind of a tree are you.
Look within yourself and ask yourself what is producing this fruit in your life that you find so awful.
Where did it come from? Why do you feel so unhappy about it? Look for your happiness within yourself by adjusting how you view the problems in your life.
Happiness is inside you regardless of outside circumstances.
The moment that you tap into and understand your own happiness within yourself is the moment the fruits (external appearances and behaviors) of your life will begin to NATURALLY change one by one.
Those natural changes you produce will stick and your life will change for the better, permanently.
