Now That Makes Me Mad

103 4
Have you ever gotten angry about something that rationally you know shouldn't have bugged you so much? Do you want to pinch someone's head off for cutting you off in traffic? Unexpressed and unprocessed anger is often linked to chronic pain.
Plus, erupting over relatively benign issues wreaks havoc in your personal relationships.
Where do these eruptions come from and how can you make them disappear? If you don't know how to allow anger and other strong emotions flow through you, they become "stuck" usually to some memory of a past hurt or injustice.
Because we habitually think of these negative emotions as "bad", we tend to try to suppress them or hold them in check.
This takes a tremendous toll on our personal energy supply.
How can you tell if your energy supply is running on empty? Here are some common symptoms: Fatigue, procrastination, impatience, inability to follow through on business or fitness goals, couch potatoism (ok, I made that one up) and an overall low satisfaction level about life in general.
The good news is that you can reclaim your precious creative energy quickly and easily.
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a gentle, non-evasive form of emotional acupressure using acupuncture meridians.
Tapping or rubbing specific points on the upper body releases the stuck energy that holds emotions in place.
Results are immediate and lasting.
Best of all, the technique is easy to learn.
Gary Craig, the founder of EFT, gives a free copy of the EFT manual to anyone who asks.
Information on his website.
Basically, you will use two fingers to tap or rub comfortably on a series of acupressure points around your upper body.
While you are tapping, you will tune into your thoughts about an issue that is troubling you.
Here is an example: Choose a problem that is bothering you right now.
Let yourself feel how upset you really are.
You don't have to hold it together for anyone, how do you really feel about this? Rate the intensity of your feelings on a scale of one to ten, one being low intensity and ten high.
Tapping on the Karate Chop Point (the side of the palm of your hand) Even though I am upset about _________________ .
I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
Repeat three times.
Eyebrow Point (Where your eyebrow meets the bridge of your nose): I am having a problem with_______________________.
Side of the eye (the bony ridge outside of the eye): I am having a problem with ____________.
Under the eye: I am really upset about__________________________.
Upper Lip: I am really upset about _____________________________.
Front of the Chin: I am upset about______________________but that can change.
Collar Bone point (across from the notch at the top of the sternum): I am upset about _______________but that can change.
Under the Arm (where the bra strap would be...
sorry, guys!): I have been upset about ______________and I am ready to focus on something else.
Top of Head: I am ready to focus on something else.
Take a deep breath.
How do you feel? Has the intensity of your emotion changed? If you are still feeling some upset about the issue, just go through the steps again.
Is there another aspect of the problem that you are aware of now? Let yourself feel any strong emotion that is there.
The stronger the feeling, the more easily you can sense the change in your mood.
You will also notice that your perspective of the problem has broadened.
You really can shift your energy by yourself.
EFT always works, even if you don't know what to say.
Simply tapping and taking a few conscious breaths as you are feeling strong emotion makes it so much easier to get over an emotional upset.
Having chronic body pain is no fun, there is no sense adding psychological and emotional pain on top of it.
Do yourself a favor and give energy tapping a try.
You will be amazed at how easy it is to change your mood.
Good luck!
