    CPU and Chipset

    • Running on the Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, the Dell OptiPlex GX280 ran on a 3.4GHz Intel Pentium 4 microprocessor. The chipset was an Intel 915 Grantsdale Express with a data bus speed of 533.0MHz.

    Memory and Drives

    • The Dell OptiPlex GX280 came with memory capacities of 128MB, 256MB, 512MB or 1GB, with a 400 or 533MHz DDR2 SDRAM architecture. Users had the choice of expanding the memory up to 4GB. The desktop came with an 80GB Serial ATA hard drive and a CD/RW optical drive.

    Audio/Video

    • The computer was equipped with either an integrated Intel Extreme Graphics Accelerator or an ATI PCI Express Radeon X300 graphics card for greater video capabilities and support for VGA and DVI display. The computer's audio relied on the AC97 driver from Realtek, complete with Sound Blaster emulation.

    • The Dell OptiPlex GX280 came in five forms, all in varying sizes: the regular Desktop, the Small Form-Factor, the Small Desktop, the Mini-Tower and the Small Mini-Tower. Ports and connectors included serial and parallel ports, eight USB 2.0 inputs and headphone and microphone jacks.
