Fighting An Enemy We Cannot See
What I've found in my Spiritual Journey to be true is that as a Christian; I'm either going through, just coming out or about to go through.
The Book says, "...
we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
" Eph.
6:12.
We are fighting against an enemy that we can't see.
However, the manifestations of this battle - the fallout from it is in our physical realm.
The difficulties in our health, our finances, with our children or loved ones; the personal issues that we have that oppress us, that we need deliverance from, that we need to overcome and gain victory over are all due to this battle.
Our challenge is to engage the enemy and wage war on him in the proper realm which is the spiritual one.
If the enemy can keep us warring in the flesh, defeat is certain or at the very best we will only achieved limited victory that we cannot sustain.
If we look at those things that keep us caught up and take our focus away from God - we'll see the enemy there.
Our enemy knows us, no doubt, better than we know ourselves.
He has studied us, planned and customized his attack on our lives with the express intent to separate us from God and destroy our souls.
If he can discourage or afflict us to the point that we doubt God then the rest of his job is easy.
When he reaches out and touches our lives - and he will, we must remain vigilant in our belief and faith in God.
We must remain proactive to gain victory not reactive.
It's only a test.
It's actually not necessary to spend our time analyzing and processing the why of it.
We must only remember the how, which is that our victory is in Christ.
We cannot fight and win by our own reason, logic, intelligence, strength or power.
Civilians don't participate in matters of war - we are soldiers in God's Army.
Our individual participation is required.
We cannot be conscientious objectors.
We are in an ongoing fight for our lives.
An explanation of this process and a breakdown of the tools we must have to successfully engage the enemy are given in Ephesians 6:10-18 (c) 2013 - Melba E.
