What Men Want No 29: The Self-Aware Woman
What men want is a woman who's more aware of herself.
Depending on what statistics you read into, the dating self-help information market can be as much as 90% catered to women.
That just shows that women seemingly need more help with dating than men do.
There's one thing that men want you to know and one thing only.
This one thing will either make you look like marriage material or an insecure little girl.
Men are into women who are self-aware in the sense that she thinks about what she's thinking about.
Does that make sense? Not to make any generalizations (because us guys can do it as well), but women tend to get carried away emotionally and to start feeling moody about little things their guys have said.
That, or they read too much into why their man might not be talking to them much on a particular day, thinking that it's somehow the lady's fault.
Yes, in the rare situation that it is the woman's fault, we'll make it clear, but having a woman who has upset herself is not going to help the situation.
Us guys can brood and appear to be sulking, when really we're just trying to sort something out that's got nothing to do with you.
Here are three things that would make men sulk (which could easily be misconstrued as the something the wife did):
We want to separate work and home as much as possible, but sometimes, the former leaks into the latter.
We know you want to help us, but as always, we try to fix up the problem ourselves.
Be aware of yourself, ladies.
Don't be an alchemist and turn nothing into a problem.

Here are three things that would make men sulk (which could easily be misconstrued as the something the wife did):
- having a bad day at work: sometimes, us guys just want to be left alone.
If you get in our way after a bad day at work, don't blame us if we lash out.
We're sorry in advance. - sports team didn't win a game: again, pretty petty, but us guys are generally passionate about our sports.
It can leave me in a dark mood for weeks at at time when my team loses. - we're just tired: this is a pretty common one that often gets misunderstood as something the wife did.
Whether it be from work or just a long day, it's never your fault ladies, just ours.
