    • 1). Place the heater outdoors in a well-ventilated area. Set a can of 1-K kerosene next to the heater.

    • 2). Turn the cap on the kerosene can counterclockwise to loosen it and pull it straight off.

    • 3). Insert the siphon tube of a siphon pump into the kerosene can so it touches the bottom of the container. The siphon tube is the straight tube below the primer bulb. Screw the siphon hose onto the kerosene can in a clockwise direction.

    • 4). Unscrew the heater filler cap in a counterclockwise direction and pull it off. Screw the flexible tube on the filler opening in the heater.

    • 5). Turn the cap on top of the primer bulb clockwise to keep air from entering the system. Squeeze the primer bulb on the siphon pump to suck up 1-K kerosene from the can and dispense it into the heater. Repeat this action until the fuel gauge on the heater indicates that the tank is nearing the full mark.

    • 6). Unscrew the top of the primer bulb counterclockwise to loosen it. This will stop the flow of kerosene into the heater.

    • 7). Unscrew the flexible hose from the heater, replace the filler cap and tighten it clockwise.

    • 8). Unscrew the siphon hose from the kerosene can and raise it up above the kerosene level in the can to allow the siphon hose to drain into the can. Screw the 1-K kerosene lid on in a clockwise direction.

    • 9). Allow 60 minutes for the wick to draw fuel into it before lighting the heater.
